Travel Insurance
Peace of Mind for Your Safari
Your story matters. Your safety does, too. EXG Safaris requires every traveler to carry travel insurance that includes Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Mortal Remains.
What You Need (Required Coverage)
Mandatory benefits for every traveler.
Minimum $500,000
Emergency Medical Evacuation / Transportation
Covers air or ground evacuation to the nearest adequate medical facility and, when medically necessary, transfer home.
Minimum $25,000 (higher preferred)
Repatriation of Mortal Remains (Return of Remains)
Returns remains to your home country or provides approved local burial or cremation per policy terms.
Required
24/7 Assistance Services
A global hotline that coordinates doctors, hospitals, ambulances, and flights.
Required
Primary Emergency Medical Coverage
Primary coverage (not secondary), with a pre-existing condition waiver if purchased within the insurer's time window after your first trip payment.
Strongly recommended add-ons
- Bedside companion benefit (to bring a loved one to you if hospitalized).
- Return of children or dependents if a guardian is hospitalized.
- Trip interruption and trip delay protection.
- Baggage delay or loss coverage.
Important
In a medical emergency, call the assistance provider first (or have your guide call). They must coordinate and pre-authorize services for benefits to apply.
How to Buy the Right Policy
3-step check before you buy.
Step 1
Look for exact wording
"Repatriation of Mortal Remains" (or "Return of Remains") and "Emergency Medical Evacuation" must appear in the certificate of insurance.
Step 2
Check limits and geography
Evacuation $500,000+; Return of Remains $25,000+. Confirm Tanzania/East Africa coverage and your full travel dates.
Step 3
Save the hotline
Put the insurer's 24/7 assistance number in your phone and share it with your travel companions and guide.
Simple Language, No Surprises
Clear definitions you can trust.
Clarity, comfort, and calm.
Emergency Medical Evacuation
Getting you from the field to the right hospital fast, then home if needed.
Repatriation of Mortal Remains
Returning a loved one home with dignity, handled by the insurer's assistance team.
Pre-existing Condition Waiver
Many plans cover past conditions if you buy soon after your first trip payment (timing varies by insurer and state).
For Different Traveler Types
Coverage guidance by traveler profile.
Families
Ensure Return of Children and a bedside companion are included.
Seniors
Confirm primary medical coverage, sufficient limits, and waiver options.
